Alan Webb (second right) ran behind Peter Van Der Westhuizen (right) for most of the race, overtaking Van Der Westhuizen toward the finish. Webb finished the Glenn Cunningham Invitational Mile first with a time of 3:58.9 and Van Der Westhuizen finished second with a time of 3:59.54 at the Kansas Relays Apr. 18 at Memorial Stadium at the University of Kansas.
